Seraquin is easy to give to dogs and cats. Most dogs and cats love Seraquin chewable tablets which makes life easy. You can give them as a treat or crush them into their normal food.

Seraquin contains glucosamine and chondroitin which help to slow down the progression of Osteoarthritis (OA) by providing building blocks to stimulate the joints auto repairing capacity and so slow down the progression of the degenerative joint disease.

Seraquin is uniquely different to other joint supplements because of the inclusion of curcuminoids which are potent, natural antioxidants that have a direct effect on the degradation of cartilage caused by oxidative stress.

Seraquin is also very useful in helping to relieve the distress and discomfort in cats with lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD or "cystitis")

Seraquin Supplement for Dogs

Tablets: 60 x 2g

Seraquin Supplement for Cats and Small Dogs

Tablets: 60 x 800mg

    Directions for Use

Seraquin is available as chewable tablets of 2g each or 800mg for small dogs and cats. The dosage depends very much on the weight of the dog. In addition, you must know that the treatment is separated into an initial period of 4 to 6 weeks and a maintenance period, in which the dosage is progressively decreased by half a tablet each week. This decrement must be done until the maintenance dose equals half of the dose from the initial period. The dosage recommended during the initial period is as follows:

    • 1 tablet per day for dogs weighing 10 kg or less
    • 2 tablets per day for dogs weighing from 10 to 20 kgs
    • 3 tablets per day for dogs of 20 to 40 kgs
    • 4 tablets per day for dogs weighing more than 40 kgs.

As previously mentioned, the maintenance level is half of the dosage administered during the initial period. However, the vet may recommend a different dosage, depending on how serious the joints are affected.

    Precautions and Side Effects

The safety of Seraquin in pregnant or nursing dogs has not been evaluated. Still, the supplement must be administered with great care in dogs who suffer from one of the following health conditions:

    • Allergy to shellfish
    • Clotting disorders
    • Diabetes
    • Metabolic conditions associated with hyperglycemia
    • Urinary tract stones

Seraquin is considered to be a safe supplement, so there are no serious adverse reactions to it, unless the dog is allergic to one of the ingredients. In rare cases, the supplement may cause a mild gastrointestinal upset, but this can be easily prevented by administering Seraquin after or with a meal.
